The Cost of a Dream in a System Not Built for You: Burnout and Breakthroughs

In Development

A documentary uncovering the mental health crisis in entrepreneurship, centering the stories of Black, Latino, women, and other underestimated founders who are breaking the silence and reshaping what resilience really means.

Why: Entrepreneurship has a mental health crisis, but not all founders experience it equally. Founders are twice as likely to face depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.

But Black, Latino, and women founders carry even heavier loads: chronic underfunding, caregiving burdens, cultural stigma, and a lack of access to care. These compounding stressors make silence deadly.

Underrepresented founders, those without generational wealth, insider networks, or institutional backing, the cost is far higher and the consequences more severe.
